Sense and Sensibility

By Anna Westerling

When you make a choice, what do you base it on, sense or sensibility? This scenario is about how you live your life, is it from your heart of from your head? What is right?

It is loosely based on the Jane Austen novel Sense and Sensibility about two sisters who live their lives according to very different maxims. We follow them parallel with a contemporary story about choices.

Time of play:
4 hours
Number of players: 6, preferably three men and three women.
Genre: Drama and Romance

Type of player: A player that likes a mixture of semi-larp, jeep-form and impro. A player that liked games like Doubt and Under my skin, who loves to create freely from an already defined story and are not afraid to play on emotions.

Type of Game Master: The game master will be responsible for the story and to guide the players through the story by setting up scenes, cutting scenes and asking for past and possible futures scenes.

About the author
Anna was the main organizer of the larp A Nice Evening with the Family (2007), which was a mashup of the dogma film Festen, and the works of Ibsen and Strindberg. Now she is taking on Jane Austen, and will do so by writing a jeep-form scenario. She has been playing jeep-games since 2000 and is a part of the writer collective Vi åker jeep.
