Newbie guide for Fastaval 2009
2009 is the 23rd Fastaval. A few of the convention goers have been there all 23 years, but if 2009 is your first time, read on.
Sign up
When you've decided which games and activities you find interesting, you have to prioritize them from 1st to 5th. During sign up you have the option of filling in these prioritie - 1st being the game you would most like to play, 5th being your very last back up game.
Arrival at Fastaval
When you arrive at Fataval the first thing you do is to find the Check In counter. Here people will make sure you are registered, that your payment is in order, that you know where to sleep and they will hand you your participation note, which is a piece of paper that tells you which of your prioritized games you have been assigned to play, where to go to play them and when. This participation note will also feature a map of the school so you don't get lost.
Information
If you encounter any problems, just go to the information help desk where the Infonauts will do their best to help you. This includes things like having questions regarding your participations note, special requests, if you forgot to sign up for something important etc.
Food
If you want to be sure to be fed warm meals during the convention, sign up for food in advance (happens when you fill in your sign up form on this website). Your participations note will function as a ticket, so hang on to it and bring it when food is served.
Should you not want the food on the menu it is possible to buy sandwiches and other reasonably healthy and wholesome food at the cafe.
